This marker code is used to denote places owned by or associated with the Lords Morley. It is not known if the Lords Morleys actually had residences at all of these places.

Their significance? These are the first places one should look when searching for cadet branches of the Lords Morley. Younger sons may have been apportioned small parts of the family estate, and their descendants may have remained in the area.

That said, it is naive to assume that all Morleys with Norfolk roots are patrilineal descendants of the Lords Morley. For one thing, there were a handful of "de Morleys" in Morley, Norfolk (and elsewhere in the county), in the early 1300s and earlier, that have not yet been linked to the baronial family. The situation is similar to the surnames "York" and "Lincoln" -- one might expect all with the surname York to have an ancestor from the city of York (or possibly Yorkshire), but one should not expect that all Yorks have the same male-line ancestor from York.
