Diverse notes on early Withyham Morleys

William Morley, yeoman of Withyham left a will, dated 24 September 1694:

• testator is "very aged"
• bequest to the poor of Withyham
• to son George Morley 1/2 of rent from tenement "called the Chequer lying at Gravesend in the County of Kent which George Atkins(?) Esqr. now holdeth of me by lease" [perhaps a pub]

William Morley, yeoman of Withyham left a will, dated 24 May 1699:

• testator is "aged and weak in body"
• bequest to poor of Withyham
• daughter-in-law Mary Morley, wife of testator's deceased son William Morley
  • William and Mary's daughter Mary, unmarried and under 21
• son Richard (only bequeathed five shillings -- was there an earlier settlement?)

• daughter Bennett (wife of Robert Mills)

    • William's two daughters
  • other children of Robert Mills and Bennett Morley?

• residue to "my kinsman Thomas Morley of Sevenoaks in the County of Kent yeoman and to the aforesaid Robert Mills my grandsonne" (also named co-executors)

• Probate 9 December 1702 London. Thomas Morley "nepotis ex fra" (brother's son?) and Robert Mills took oaths. [Some note about the testator's son Richard which I cannot decipher.]

For reasons unknown, William Morley of Withyham revoked his earlier will and replaced it with a vastly different one!
